Women's Lacrosse - Sat, Mar. 1, 2014

SHAWNEE, OKLA. [BOX SCORE G1] [BOX SCORE G2] - The Spartans traveled to Shawnee, Oklahoma to play Oklahoma Baptist and Midland University.  Coming up with two wins, the Spartans extend their win streak to three.

The women's lacrosse team started off the day playing Oklahoma Baptist University and ended the game leading by 14 points. 

The Spartans started the game off with Daniell Pfyl and Antonia Carter scoring right away.  Oklahoma Baptist came back with a goal at 22:14, but the Spartans were able to hold the Bison and go on a scoring run of 12 goals before the Bison broke the run with a single goal.  With time expiring,  Lauren Murray and Danielle Pfyl were able to score again. Final score 17-2 in favor of the Spartans.

The leading scorer for game one was Danielle Pfyl with eight shots, six goals, one assist, and seven points. Lauren Murray also having a big game of five goals on six shots, one assist, and six points on the game.  Also adding points to the board was Shelby Shore (3), Taylor Johnson (1), and Antonia Carter (1).  Only allowing the Bison two goals, Casi Wicks had seven saves.

In game two of the day the Spartans took on Midland University.  Following a win of 14 points, the Spartans secured the win against Midland University with a 13-10 final score.   

Leading scorer in game two was Lauren Murray, with a big game against the warriors, Murray ended the game with eight goals, one assist and five shots.  Danielle Pfyl turned up with three goals, six shots, and 1 assist.  Morgen Filla and Taylor Johnson both put in one point each for the Spartans.  Casi Wicks, having a big weekend, ends the game against Midland with nineteen saves. 

As the Spartans close out the week with a three game win streak on the week and on the season. The team is set to face Lindenwood - Belleville on Thurdsday, March 6, 2014.
