The MBU men's and women's tennis teams both suffered a loss to McKendree University on Tuesday. The women's team lost 3-6, and the men's team lost 1-8. 

For the Lady Spartans, the lone win in doubles play came from the number three doubles team of Alexia Cortez and Olivia Atkinson (by default). Marty Tanner won her number four singles match by defeating Alison Holloway 6-3, 6-2. The final win for MBU came from Olivia Atkinson, who took the number six singles win by default.

For the men's team, Fran Cortez picked up the lone win, taking the number four singles match in exciting fashion. Cortez defeated Doug Mennerick in a super tie breaker 6-4, 5-7, (10-8). MBU's Desmond Perrigord came just shy of a win, losing his match to Parrick Rosa in a super tie breaker 6-4, 4-6 (10-5).

Both squads will travel to Marshall, Missouri on Saturday to face Baker University and host Missouri Valley College. Play will start against Baker at 12:30 p.m.
