Twenty-four members and friends of the MBU women's soccer team braved the soggy weather April 19th to take part in Walk MS in Clayton. The three-mile walk, sponsored by the Gateway Chapter of the National MS Society, raised money to help discover a cure for Multiple Sclerosis. Multiple sclerosis is a chronic, unpredictable disease of the central nervous system that affects about 400,000 people in the United States.
The MBU athletes walked in honor of Philip Lupton, father of freshman goalkeeper Kekua Lupton, who was recently diagnosed with the disease. Philip and wife Rudea joined the team in Walk MS. For their efforts, the Lady Spartan squad raised $750 to help fight MS.
