MBU senior Meagan Hudson earned a win in her first outing of the 2009 season. The two-time cross country All-American from Festus, Mo. (Crystal City H.S.) set the pace for the 4k race at Forest Park, finishing in 14:59. Hudson beat 127 runners from 11 area NAIA, NCAA D-I, D-II, and D-III institutions.
"She has high expectations for her senior year," MBU Head Women's Coach Amanda Schick said of Hudson. "And this is a great start to, what is hoped to be, her best season."
The MBU men's team fiinished 13th of 17 teams. Senior Steve Bender (St. Louis, Mo./Lindenwood) earned MBU's highest finish, his time of 21:13 good for 42nd in a field of 167.
Both the men's and women's cross country teams will travel to Warrensburg, Mo. on September 11th to compete in the University of Central Missouri Mule Classic.
