Senior Meagan Hudson led the MBU women's cross country team in two races this weekend. On Friday, Hudson (Festus, Mo./Crystal City H.S.) took fourth in a field of 77 at the University of Central Missouri Mule Run. She ran the 4k in a time of 15:12.55. Junior teammate Kari Rawlins (DeSoto, Mo./Jefferson College) finished in 17:56.74.
On Saturday, the team finished in third place at the Hannibal-LaGrange Invitational. Hudson won her second race of the season with a 19:45.32, beating the field by almost two minutes, on the difficult 5k course. Also competing for MBU were Katie Cline (25:04), Lauren Scott (28:08), Kenyatta Harris (28:58), and Rawlins, who did not finish due to injury.
"This was possibly the toughest course we'll run on all year," said MBU Head Coach Amanda Schick. "Our women were pushed and gave a great team effort."
The Lady Spartans will have next weekend off, then will travel to Southern Illinois University - Carbondale on September 26th.
