ST. LOUIS- [FINAL RESULTS] The Missouri Baptist Men's Golf team competed in the Murray State Invitational on September 12 and 13 and posted a sixth place team finish (290-294-298—882) in the nine team event.
On the 36 hole first day, it was Curtis Brokenbrow who guided MBU out of the gates. The sophomore from Manchester, England fired off a 72-69 on day one to sit at one under par, just four shots off the lead.
Senior Cody Stevens posted 72-71, just two shots behind Brokenbrow after day one. Stevens would then step up in a big way in Tuesday's third round. With a second day 67, the senior vaulted up the leaderboard to finish in a tie for sixth. The 67 tied for the low round of the day on Tuesday.
Brokenbrow fell back a little with a 76 on day two and finished in a tie for 20th. Andrew Grant, a freshman from Dunblane, UK, posted rounds of 71-74-72 in his collegiate debut and also tied for 20th.
The Spartans will now enjoy a week off before competing in the Evangel University Fall Invitational on September 26 and 27 in Springfield, Mo.
