ST. LOUIS -- [BOX SCORE] Missouri Baptist made quick work of Morningside Thursday night to earn win number 10. The Spartans won 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-15) in a match that lasted just over an hour.

With Spartan kills leader Mico Janicijevic sitting out, two freshmen took on the attack role. Luka Cajic and Drew Iliff both posted 10+ kills on the night. Cajic totaled exactly 10 on just 14 swings.

Morningside (2-12, 1-4) started the night strong. The Mustangs led 13-10 in set one and trailed just 21-18 down the stretch. Two separate runs helped the Spartans take control. Donald Flemming capped a 6-0 run with a kill to give MBU the lead 16-13. The Spartans also scored the set's final four points to win 25-18. Daniel Prada's ace ended it.

The Spartans scored five consecutive points in set two to lead 10-6 and never trailed again. The home team rallied to bring the deficit to 18-15, but Iliff and Cajic combined for three kills as the set closed to again lift MBU to a 25-18 win.

Set three saw MBU race out to a 15-6 lead and eventually pushed the margin to 22-9. The Spartans hit .350 as a team and wasted no time posting the sweep. Cam Hibbler finished with six kills on nine swings for another efficient night. Prada had five and Kyle Foley finished with four kills, along with 34 assists and six digs. Ivan Trifunovic led the Spartans defensively with eight.

Raul Rivera Rojas led Morningside with 11 kills. No other player had more than five. MBU will remain in Sioux City, Iowa to take on Briar Cliff tomorrow night. The match is set for 7:00 pm.
