ST. LOUIS— No. 5 Missouri Baptist Men's Lacrosse dropped a 15-9 decision to No. 7 Keiser University (Fla.) on Thursday afternoon on the campus of Reinhardt University in Waleska, Ga.
The Spartans jumped out to early lead on a quick goal from Matt Onken in the first quarter. Keiser came right back, however, and ended the opening frame with a 5-3 lead.
That would be as close as MBU could get. The Seahawks extended their lead in each quarter. They took a 9-6 halftime lead and doubled up the Spartans in the second half, 6-3.
Austin Dahl led Missouri Baptist with four goals on 10 shots. The junior also picked up five groundballs. Dan Mollet and Alex Todd accounted for two first half goals, while Devin Mayer and Jon Chaffee scored after the break.
The loss drops the Spartans to 4-2 on the season. They'll be back in action on Saturday night with another tough matchup against No. 6 Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). Start time in Waleska will be 6 pm CST.
