ST. LOUIS – [BOX SCORE] Missouri Baptist Sand Volleyball has had success against Principia (Ill.) this season and that trend continued on Wednesday. Missouri Baptist posted four team points in a competitive match and grabbed its third win of the season, 4-1.

Missouri Baptist (3-3) has faced-off against Principia three times in 2017 and each time it has gone the Spartan's way, though this match was competitive at nearly every pairing.

At No. 1, Jen Brendel and Hannah Carey had a fight in the first set against Principia's Emelie Fredrikson and Nikki Matters. The Panther duo pushed the Spartans before Missouri Baptist took the first set 21-19 and eventually the match with a second set, 21-10 win.

Kamden Maas and Cate Cigarini cruised to a No. 2, 21-14, 21-11 win while Sarah Bolton and Maija Tosic had their hands full at No. 3.

The Missouri Baptist grabbed a three set win over Sophia Hathaway and Noelle Shoemake, but the Panther No. 3 duo made the Spartans earn it. Hathaway and Shoemake snadded the first set 21-13 before the visitors fired back.

Tosic and Bolton won the second set in dominating fashion, 21-8 before rolling in the tiebreak set 15-4.

Kristen and Megan Williams also picked-up a win at No. 5 with a hard-fought battle over Amanda Roberts and Mesa Goebel. The sister act took the first set with an easy 21-11 win before getting caught off guard in an 21-13 loss setting-up an entertaining third set. The Missouri Baptist paid defeated their opponents 15-13 and wrapped-up a nice day at the office for Missouri Baptist.

In exhibition action, Molly Fox and Kelly Hughes were defeated by Mia Gill and Emily Tippetts, 19-21, 21-15, 15-11.
