ST. LOUIS – Missouri Baptist officially announced the hiring of Lizzy Ward to become the new Dance Head Coach on Monday as the spirit program filled one of its biggest voids of the offseason.

Ward, an experienced competitive dancer throughout her life, will try to lead the Spartans to similar success that she experienced in her collegiate years at Lindenwood (Mo.).

In her time on the Lionettes Dance Team, she was a three-year captain and helped her squad to consistently place in the top five at the NDA (National Dance Alliance) Collegiate Nationals in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Ward spent three years on the dance team at Francis Howell High School. The team placed third in state her junior year and won the State Championship her senior year. The team also placed second at the Universal Dance Association National Dance Team Championship in the Varsity Hip Hop.

Ward graduated from Lindenwood University in December of 2015 with her Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and now works as an accountant at Magellan Health.
