The MBU women's basketball team is off to a 6-0 start, after a 80-54 win over NCAA D-III Greenville College last Tuesday.
After a close fought battle throughout most of the first half, MBU pulled away with a 10 point lead at the half, with a score of 38-28. Greenville continued to battle during the second half, but the Lady Spartans never relinquished the lead, taking the 80-54 win.
MBU Junior forward Jessica Moore led all scorers with 25 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Junior forward Ashley Johnson and junior guard Megan Payton also scored in double digits for Missouri Baptist, scoring 19 points and 13 points respectively.
The Lady Spartans will face a challenge to remain undefeated Tuesday night, December 1st, when they host the NCAA Division-III second ranked Titans of Illinois Wesleyan University. The Titans will enter Tuesday's contest with a 5-0 record. Tip-off for the game is 5:00 p.m.
