ST. LOUIS – Missouri Baptist Football will host its annual Football 101 for Women, presented by Mercy on Thursday, July 20, signaling the official kickoff of the 2017 Spartan Football season.

The event, which is sponsored by Mercy this season, will once again be dedicated toward providing an opportunity for the ladies of the campus on community to learn about the game, internal operations of the coaching staff, and get hands-on experience in common drills that are run during practices throughout the year.

The women's only event will feature speakers with years of collegiate and NFL experience on their resume. Charles Coe, current Co-Offensive Coordinator and Assistant Head Coach, will return along with Joe Bowden, former linebacker's coach with the St. Louis Rams (2013-15) and San Francisco 49ers (2016), and Keith Williams, product of McCluer North High School and University of Nebraska, who split time in the NFL as a lineman with both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Buffalo Bills.

Registrants will get a close-up comparison of the differences between professional and collegiate football, experience working through drills and will have an opportunity to meet the 2017 coaching staff.

Also featured at this year's event will be special guest Mike Jones, who made what is known in St. Louis as "The Tackle" which held the Tennessee Titans just shy of the goal line in Super Bowl 34, giving the St. Louis Rams its lone championship in the Gateway City.

Thursday's event is set to begin at 5:30 p.m. at Spartan Field. For more information and to register, go to the REGISTRATION PAGE.
