ST. LOUIS- [BOX SCORE] Missouri Baptist Men's Soccer knocked off Freed-Hardeman 4-1 on Saturday afternoon at CBC Stadium. Garrett Dieckhaus notched two goals and an assist as the Spartans came from behind for the first time this season.

The Spartans fell behind early after a foul was committed in the MBU box. George Archard stepped up and converted from the spot to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.

MBU responded quickly however. Eduardo Maia knotted things up when he delivered a perfect free kick from 20 yards out, sending the Lions' keeper in the wrong direction. The Spartans then found a late go ahead goal from Garrett Dieckhaus to go into the half ahead 2-1. Yuri Pecanha supplied the assist as Dieckhaus picked up his second goal of the year.

The Spartans continued the attack after the break and Gabriele Zennaro added a key insurance marker in the 71st minute. He and Dieckhaus played a perfect one-two that left Zennaro in alone. The freshman sidestepped the keeper and finished into an open goal.

Dieckhaus finally capped a career day in the 88th minute. Jordan Lovell sent a free kick toward the Freed-Hardeman box. Lions' keeper Kyle Brown came out to catch but it slipped through his hands. Dieckhaus was waiting on the doorstep, pounced on the loose ball, and slotted home for his second of the day. That would be how the match ended at 4-1.

The final shots on goal count favored MBU at 8-4. Davide Bucarelli stopped three shots in goal for the Spartans.

Missouri Baptist improves to 4-7 overall and 2-3 in the AMC. They'll take on Lyon College next Saturday on Senior Day. Kickoff is tentatively scheduled for 3:30 pm.
