ST. LOUIS—[BOX SCORE] Missouri Baptist Men's Soccer dropped a 2-1 decision to Lindenwood-Belleville on Wednesday night.

The Spartan offense struggled to find its footing in the first half as the Lynx defense held them to just a single shot attempt. Conversely, the home side attempted six shots with four finding their way on goal.

The Lynx would eventually draw first blood in the 21st minute on a goal from sophomore Callum Walker. They added a second in the 41st minute to take a 2-0 lead into halftime.

After the break, the attack picked up a bit for MBU. Ben Boyd finally drew the Spartans one closer in the 81st minute. The senior found a loose ball in the Lynx penalty area and, after seeing his first attempt cleared off the line, calmly finished the rebound right under the crossbar.

The Spartans threw everything they could at LU-Belleville in the final 10 minutes but failed to find the equalizer. The match finished 2-1 in favor of the home side.

The Spartans fall to 5-8 overall and 3-4 in the AMC. No. 17 Columbia will be in town next Monday for a 1 pm start at Spartan Field.
