ST. LOUIS—[BOX SCORE] Missouri Baptist Women's Soccer defeated Lindenwood-Belleville 1-0 in Double Overtime on Wednesday night. Sophomore Riley Janvrin finally scored the game winner after 100 scoreless minutes.

The Lynx (4-8, 3-3) gave MBU all they could handle on a cold, rainy night in Belleville. They controlled the ball in the Spartan end for significant stretches of the first half. After the break, the Spartans found themselves primarily on the attack but unable to crack Lynx keeper Alondra Balderrama.

MBU keeper Alex Lair was equally brilliant at the other end. She would ultimately finish the match with six saves to earn her 15th career clean sheet (fifth of the season).

After 90 minutes of back and forth, the teams moved into sudden death overtime. Neither side could find a winner in the first 10 minute OT so a second became necessary. Just a minute into the second overtime, Alyssa Matz found space to the right of the Lynx penalty area. She whipped a cross in that Alondra Balderrama could only get a finger on. It deflected to the far post where Riley Janvrin was waiting alone to tap it in for the game winner. It was the Florissant, Mo. native's second goal of the year and first career OT winner.

The Spartans improve to 7-5-1 overall and 5-3 in the AMC. Next up is a date with No. 5 ranked Columbia College on Monday. Kickoff at Spartan Field is set for 11 am.
