Women's Indoor Track & Field - Sun, Feb 14, 2010
The Missouri Baptist University women's track and field team competed in its last regular season indoor meet on Saturday, competing at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana.

Six Lady Spartans ran a personal best time this weekend. Arianna Dotson placed 5th in the 200m running 27.10. Porcha Grady placed 5th in the 400m 1:04.32. Sharelle Balentine placed 10th in the 60m dash clocking a 8.32. Alex Weatersby ran 2:28.71 in the 800m run. Katie Cline also had a personal best in the 800m running 2:39.67. Lastly, Meagan Hudson ran a personal best of 2:56.88 in the 1000m run, reclaiming her own IWU Track record and also earning an automatic bid to the NAIA National Championships. Her time gives her the second fastest time run this year in the NAIA.

A close contender to the meeting the National mark was the women's 4x800m relay. The team finished first in the competition with a time of 9:57.82, just missing the provisional bid by two seconds. The relay team consisted of Alex Weathersby, Erica Rieman, Meagan Hudson, Whitney Welch. "These performances were a great display for what I hope is in store for us at the Conference and National Meet," said MBU Head Coach Amanda Schick. "We're going into the AMC Meet with a lot of motivation. For some, this is the last chance to qualify for Nationals, others to PR, so every individual has something they're working on, and of course we're going in to try to win conference."

The American Midwest Conference Championship will be held Friday, February 19th in Columbia, Mo. This is the first ever AMC Championship held for indoor competition. Competing in the meet with MBU will be Hannibal-LaGrange College, McKendree University, Park University and William Woods University.
