Men's Indoor Track & Field - Mon, Feb 22, 2010
The MBU men's track & field team competed in the first ever American Midwest Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships last weekend. The Spartans made a strong showing, finishing with 159 points, second to McKendree University.

Sophomore DeWain Meeks earned Outstanding Track Athlete honors, with first place finishes in the 60m (6.90), 200m (22.55) and a lead off leg on the winning 4 X 400 Relay. Joining Meeks on the 4x400 squad were Ivan Milicevic, Kyle Meyers, and Junior Hines. They finished the race in 3:25.72.  Meyers also posted a 1:14.09 qualifier in the 600m run, and Hines won the long jump (6.13m). Darren Norris won the high jump (1.88m).

"The team showed a lot of depth, as everyone contributed by taking several 2nds, 3rds, and 4ths to put together a solid team effort," said MBU Head Coach Gordon Reiter.

The 4 X 400 relay (Tim Glockner, Milicevic, Meyers, Hines), along with Meeks (60m), Milicevic (60mh), and Meyers (600m) will travel to Johnson City, Tennessee to compete at the 2010 NAIA Men's Indoor Track & Field National Championships March 4-8.
