The fourth seeded MBU women's basketball team concluded its season with a 69-57 loss to the AMC's top seeded William Woods University in the American Midwest Conference Tournament Semifinal Round in Fulton, Mo. on Friday night.

The Lady Spartans threw the NAIA's 15th ranked Owls for fits the entire contest. MBU trailed by just a bucket at the half, as WWU held a 34-31 lead heading into the locker room.

William Woods scored first to start the second half, but a run by MBU gave the Lady Spartans the lead for the first time in the contest just over four minutes into the second half. MBU extended that lead to as much as eight, before an offensive cold snap allowed the Lady Owls to regain control of the game.

MBU was within five points with 1:30 left in the ball game. As the Lady Spartans fouled in attempts to stay alive, the Lady Owls connected on key free-throws to finish the game with a twelve-point margin.

William Woods' Jestine Gerber led all scorers with 20 points. MBU's Ashley Johnson led MBU with 15 points and 11 rebounds and 3 steals. Andrea Seabaugh also scored 15 points, while Megan Payton added 10.

The Lady Spartans finished the season 17-13 overall.
