
The Missouri Baptist University Track & Field athletes put on strong performances March 4-6 at the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships in Johnson City, Tenn. Senior Meagan Hudson ran for MBU's best finish, taking 5th place in the 3,000 meter run.
Hudson earned Indoor All-American honors for the second time in her career, by finishing fifth in the 3,000m run. The senior ran a personal best time of 9:55.52, finishing just ten seconds behind the first place finisher. Indoor, Outdoor, and Cross Country honors combined, Hudson has earned All-American honors eight times, more All-American honors than any other athlete in school history.
Also competing for the MBU women was junior Tiffany Jackson. Jackson qualified for the semi-finals of the 60m hurdles running a preliminary time of 9.13. She ran a time of 9.5 in the semi-finals, to fall short of reaching finals.
For the men's squad, the 4 X 400 relay team ran a season best time, but
fell short of advancing to the finals. Tim Glockner, Ivan Milicevic,
Kyle Meyer and Junior Hines ran the race in 3:22. DeWain Meeks missed moving on to
the semi-finals in the 60m dash by just 1/1000 of a second. (6.932 to
6.933). Meyer and Milicevic also ran in the preliminary heats of the 600m
run and the 60m hurdles respectively, however were not able to advance.
"Our runners performed and competed well," said MBU Men's Head Coach Gordon Reiter. "Now, we look
forward to moving on to the outdoor season with standards and goals to
reach in order to qualify for the outdoor championships in May."
