The MBU men's golf team finished fourth of eleven teams at this weekend's Millikin University Spring Opener Tournament at Oak Terrace Resort Golf Course in Pana, Illinois. The field of teams completed just one rain soaked round on Friday, as Saturday's scheduled play was canceled due to wet course conditions.

The Spartans had a team score of 319, just ten strokes behind the champion Millikin. The top four of each team's five individual scores were counted toward the team total. The par for the course was 72. Michael Ferris hit a team low 78 for MBU, followed by Kyle Jasper with 79, Dustin Hoehn with 82, Steven Went with 85, and Jack Jackson with 80. The Spartans' Ben Werner played as the individual medalist, hitting 82.

The Spartans will return to the links on March 30, when they compete at the William Woods Spring Invitational at Tanglewood Golf Course in Fulton, Missouri.
