For the second year in a row, the MBU women's soccer team participated in the Walk MS in Clayton. The members of the Lady Spartan squad walked on April 11, 2010 to raise awareness and funds for the Gateway Area Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Twenty-five members of the women's soccer program walked four miles and raised over $300. The team walked in honor of sophomore goalkeeper Kekua Lupton's
father, who was diagnosed with MS early in 2009.
"It was a fun event
and a great opportunity for us to grow closer as a team, while
supporting a good cause," said MBU Head Coach Deno Merrick.
The Gateway Area Chapter of the MS Society raised over $95,000 from the event. You can visit the MBU women's soccer team fundraising site by clicking here.In addition to supporting studies which hope to reveal the cause and
course of the disease, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society also
provides much needed education, programs, and services to everyone who
is affected by MS - including the diagnosed, their friends and families,
and the healthcare professionals who work with them. Learn more about the Gateway Area Chapter of the National MS Society by
