The Missouri Baptist University baseball team clinched the American Midwest Conference Tournament Championship with a 6-5 win over William Woods University on Tuesday night.


The Spartans will take a 42-12 record into the NAIA National Championship Opening Round May 18-21.


MBU earned both the AMC Regular Season and Post-Season titles, and snagged several All-Conference honors as well.


Senior shortstop Matt Holliman was named AMC Player of the Year and Newcomer Player of the Year. Jr. RHP Sean Woolard was named AMC Pitcher of the Year and Newcomer Pitcher of the Year. Joining Holliman and Woolard as First Team All-Conference members were third baseman Adrian Martinez and outfielder Ronald Melo. Head Coach Eddie Uschold was named AMC Coach of the Year.


Six Spartans earned Honorable Mention All-Conference honors: Tyler Andreason, Jacob Greminger, Billy Mansfield, Jon Serafini, Rashad Tucker, and Adalberto Vargas. Earning Academic All-Conference honors were: Tyler Andreason, Brad Blankenship, Brandon Brokaw, Jimmy Colborn, Jacob Greminger, Rusty Hendricks, Kendel Ortiz, Jonathon Serafini and Nathan Utt.
