MBU baseball's Matt Holliman and Ronald Melo were named NAIA Baseball Honorable Mention All-Americans by the NAIA National Office on Thursday afternoon.
Holliman, a senior short stop from Germantown, Tenn., was also the American Midwest Conference Player of the Year and Newcomer Player of the Year. He had a .396 batting average, .818 slugging percentage, 19 home runs, and 74 runs scored on the season.
Melo, a junior outfielder from Brooklyn, N.Y., was an AMC First Team All-Conference player. He batted .320, had 34 stolen bases in 36 attempts, and 65 runs scored.
The Spartans reached the NAIA National Championship Opening Round for the first time in program history this season. They finished the 2010 campaign with a 43-13 overall record and both the AMC Regular Season and Tournament Championships.
