2010 Softball Coaches
Craig Walston - Head Coach - 4th Season
Craig Walston has been the Head Softball Coach at MBU since 2006. Walston served in the Meramec Valley School District and the Rockwood School District respectively as a high school mathematics teacher for 16 years.
 
Walston then spent nine seasons at Webster University where he served as the head softball coach. While at Webster, Walston compiled a 263-90 record over nine seasons with a winning percentage of .750. Walston led his Webster teams to five consecutive NCAA Division III National Tournament bids and he was recognized as a two time Conference Coach of the Year selection and boasts of one Regional Coach of the Year honor. Walston has been recognized for his efforts as he was named an assistant coach in 1996 and head coach in 2000 of the local St. Louis Softball All Stars who faced the United States Olympic team in softball exhibitions.
 

Walston is a University of Missouri graduate and holds a Master's degree from the United States Sports Academy. Along with his duties as Head Softball Coach, Walston also teaches in MBU's undergraduate program.

 
Kevin Ebers - Assistant Coach - 4th Season
Kevin Ebers has coached ten yrs in the Johnny Mac's Baseball program and 6 yrs for the Oakville Junior Tigers.  Ebers currently serves as vice president of the South County Youth Sports Association. A lifelong St. Louisan, he has a BS degree in PE and an MS in educational administration from UMSL. Ebers has been teaching PE in the Hazelwood District for a number of years. A former player, Ebers brings much talent to Missouri Baptist softball. Coach Ebers is married with two children.
 
Ken Messer-Brooks Image
Ken Messer-Brooks - Assistant Coach - 4th Season
Ken Messer-Brooks is entering his third year as the Assistant Coach for the Missouri Baptist University softball team. He brings a wealth of experience to the MBU softball program.
 
Prior to joining the coaching staff at MBU, Messer-Brooks spent five years as Head Softball Coach at Nerinx Hall High School, eight years as Assistant Softball Coach at Webster University, and immediately prior to arriving at MBU, spent one year as Assistant Softball Coach at Harris-Stowe Stowe State University (all in St. Louis).
 

Coach Messer-Brooks founded the Wolverine Softball Association in 1992. Additionally, he has been an ASA Umpire for over 15 yrs and has umpired CYC Softball for years. Messer-Brooks, a retired United States Army Captain, attended Indiana Vocational College for Computer Technology. He is married with 2 daughters.
