Deno Merrick Image
Deno Merrick - Head Coach - 3rd Season
Deno is entering the third year as Head Coach for both the Men and Women Soccer Program at Missouri Baptist University. He played his senior year at Missouri Baptist and he also plays for his national team of Antigua. He holds a degree in Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems and a minor in Business Administration. Deno also recently graduated with his Masters Degree in Education with emphasis in Sports Management at Missouri Baptist University.
 
Deno was one of the most influential players on the MBU team during his senior season. He was chosen as an All Conference player and honorable mention All Regional. Deno also participated in the United Soccer League (USL) for the local St. Louis Lions Premier Development League in there second season. Deno helped the Lions reach the playoff for the first time in the team's history and also helped them to another winning season with a record of 10-6-0.

Miles Abel - Assistant Coach - 2nd Season
The 2009 season will be Coach Abel's second season on the men's soccer coaching staff. Coach Abel began the 2008 campaign as the Graduate Assistant Coach, but was quickly promoted to the full-time Assistant Men's Soccer Coach. 
 
Coach Abel graduated from Missouri Baptist University, and played all four years on the men's soccer varsity team. As a math major and soccer player, he earned the MBU Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award twice, and was an NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athlete. 
 
 
Brock Chatman Image
Brock Chatman - Grad Assistant - 1st Season
The 2009 season is Coach Chatman's first season on the MBU men's soccer coaching staff. He spent the last four seasons as a forward for the MBU men's soccer team. At MBU, he earned AMC Freshman of the Year, Honorable Mention All-Conference, and two-time First Team All-Conference honors. Chatman also was a part of the St. Louis Lions team in their inaugural season in 2006 and contributed to the first playoff birth for the Lions in 2007 season.
 
Born and raised in St. Louis, he attended Christian Brothers College High School (CBC), where he competed at the Varsity level in track and field and soccer. Chatman received All-State Honors his Junior and Senior year in track and field as well as back to back State Championships in 4x100 meter relay in 2003 and 2004. He played soccer for the Most winningest high school coach in the nation Terry Michler and received honors 1st team All-State, 2nd team All-Metro, and Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) All-Star game MVP.
 

Chatman played his club soccer for the prestigious St. Louis Scott Gallagher for 10 years under coach Mark Dorsey, where he helped his team to 5 State championships and 3 regional final appearances. 

 

Brock is now head coach of his own St. Louis Scott Gallagher Under 8 boys team (Inter Milan), and assistant coach for an under 10 boys team (Juventus).

Brock has his "F" coaching license.
