ST. LOUIS – In two seasons, head coach Matt Brock has fought to bring a different kind of culture back to the hardwood at Missouri Baptist: winning. After last season's remarkable turnaround, the Spartans posted another winning season in 2016-17 to prove they're here to stay among the conference's best.
FULTON, Mo. – [BOX SCORE] No. 8-seed Missouri Baptist went toe-to-toe with No. 5-seed William Woods Saturday afternoon in the AMC Tournament semifinals. The game featured 11 ties and 12 lead changes with the Owls edging MBU 73-67 inside Anderson Arena.
ST. LOUIS—[BOX SCORE] Though everyone knew the game was far from over, the final two and a half minutes were agonizing for Spartan fans on Thursday. In hostile territory, Missouri Baptist took control of play at the Arena in the Southwell Complex and stole the biggest win of the season from the NAIA No. 6-ranked Columbia Cougars. The No. 8-seed Spartans took a two-point lead into halftime and held on to defeat Columbia (Mo.) 78-73.
ST. LOUIS – [BOX SCORE] A hot-shooting second half lifted Freed-Hardeman past Missouri Baptist 87-68 Saturday afternoon. The Lions extended a one-point halftime lead after shooting 53.3 percent (16-for-30) after halftime.
ST. LOUIS – [BOX SCORE] Missouri Baptist clinched a spot in the upcoming American Midwest Conference Tournament with a dominant 107-68 road win over Williams Baptist Thursday night.
