Fulton, Mo. - Missouri Baptist women's golf played in two tough tournaments over the last two weeks with varying results. At William Woods, the team placed third out of three teams.  The Missouri Baptist women's golf team recently played in the SIUE Edwardsville tournament and were unable to place due illness forcing one golfer out of the competition.

The MBU men's golf team won the Hannibal-LaGrange Spring Invitational Friday and Saturday at Norwoods Golf Club in Hannibal, Missouri. The team shot 295-295 for a two-day total of 590, beating out second place finisher and rival William Woods University by 8 shots. This is one of the best two day team totals ever played by the  MBU men's golf team.

Kyle Jasper was medalist with stellar rounds of 70-73 at one-under par to win individual competition by  two srokes. MBU golfers Zack Daugherty, Steven Went and Dustin Hoehn also had top-ten individual finishes. The team win is MBU's first win of the spring season and has come just in time for the American Midwest Conference Championship to be held May 4th and 5th at A.L. Gustin Golf Course in  Columbia, Missouri.

The women's golf team had its best showing of the year as well this weekend, with a second place finish at the Hannibal-LaGrange Spring Invitational. Jennifer Lotz posted a two day total of 87-79 (166) and finished as the leading Lady Spartan golfer. The women will compete at the AMC Championship at The Rail Golf Course in Springfield, Illinois on April 27th and 28th.
