Both the MBU men's and women's basketball programs once again boast athletes receiving NAIA All-American honors. Brandon Roberson, a senior guard for the Spartan squad, and Jessica Moore, a junior forward for the Lady Spartans, were named NAIA Division I All-American Honorable Mention.

The MBU women's basketball team has advanced to the semifinal round of the 2010 American Midwest Conference Women's Basketball Tournament. The fourth seed Lady Spartans defeated the fifth seed Hannibal-LaGrange College 77-65 in AMC Quarterfinal action in Muncy Gymnasium Thursday night to advance in tournament play.

The MBU women's basketball team concluded the regular season by going 1-1 last week in American Midwest Conference play. The Lady Spartans lost to the NAIA's #16 William Woods University 78-68 on Thursday. However, it was MBU's 90-84 road victory over Hannibal-LaGrange on Saturday that secured a fourth place finish out of nine teams in the AMC.
