The Missouri Baptist wrestling squad is in eleventh place with 19 points after one day of action at the 2010 NAIA Wrestling National Championships. Notre Dame College of Ohio leads the pack with 44 points. Three Spartan grapplers have advance to today's championship quarterfinals, while the rest of the team will look to stay alive in wrestleback action.
Four members of the MBU women's wrestling team have qualified to compete at the 2010 USA World Team Trials. The Trials are set to be held June 11-12 at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
MBU women's wrestling freshman Helen Maroulis became the first Lady Spartan in program history to become a Women's Collegiate Wrestling Association National Champion on Saturday. Her team finished fourth at the meet.
The MBU women's wrestling team traveled to Guelph, Ontario, Canada to compete at the University of Guelph International Wrestling Tournament last weekend. The Lady Spartans put on a strong performance, with four top four finishes.
Due to road conditions in the state of Iowa, the MBU men's and women's wrestling teams will not be participating in this weekend's NWCA/Cliff Keen National Duals Meet at Northern Iowa University.
