
ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Missouri Baptist University men's soccer quietly made a change at the top in December. After spending two seasons as a graduate assistant coach, Jacob Alvernia was named head coach of the Spartan men's soccer team replacing Deno Merrick, who will remain with Missouri Baptist and focus soley on the women's program.

ST. LOUIS, Mo.- In 2003-06, coach Jared Embick spent four seasons as the head men's soccer coach, where he led the Spartans to a record of 47-21-8. In October 2012, after spending five years with Akron, Embick was named the head coach of the University of Akron men's soccer team, as he will be replacing current coach Caleb Porter, who announced last August that he will become the head coach of the Major League Soccer's Portland Timbers.

ST. LOUIS, Mo- The Missouri Baptist men's soccer team came up one win short of extending their season into the American Midwest Conference playoffs. The Spartans end the year with a 4-12-1 record (2-5-1 AMC).
